Project 1 came together three drafts, and a lot of re-reads after.
In the first draft, I went in not knowing what the overarching theme of the piece was going to be. However, as I wrote, I decided to build upon the idea of 'uncertainty' of Al Khor and the contradictions within it. This was on the back of my mind whilst writing the descriptions, ensuring that it was as purposeful as I could make it be. In the second draft, I decided to expand on these descriptions and explicitly link it to the concepts from the article, having realized that not all the connections I made in my head were going to be visible to everyone. The second draft was essentially trying to balance the voice of the piece and altering it so that it remains accessible and effective to the greater audience. The last draft was just ensuring that everything flowed - rearranging words and clauses to best achieve my intended effect. Devil is in the details!
